The Music festival is held on the 21st of June.
This event was born in 1981. when the composer Maurice Fleury takes up the idea of the American musician Joel Cohen, but it is the Minister of Culture at that time, Jack Lang who carries it out.
The aim is to encourage amateur musicians to express themselves in streets and public places, but also thanks to the numerous free concerts, organized by amateurs and also by professional musicians, to enable the public to get access to music of different type and origin - classical music, jazz, rock, ethnic music, folk music, etc.
The music event takes place primarily in the evening, at night and sometimes continues till morning.
This festival which is held on the day of the summer solstice, marking the transition between spring and summer, has become today a tradition not only in France but also in many countries around the world.
